2008 Election Results - Overview

City of Lincoln Council Election Results 1 May 2008

Following the election results the Conservatives retained control of the Council.

The City of Lincoln Council has 33 Councillors in total.
On the 1st May 11 seats, one in each Ward in Lincoln, were up for election.

The new political breakdown is:-

 Conservative 18 
 Labour 14 
 Liberal Democrat
 
  • 19858 residents voted which was an overall turnout of 31.28%
  • 5863 of these were postal votes.
  • 63488 residents were eligible to vote,
  • 71.24% of postal votes were returned from a total of 8230 postal votes issued.
  • There were 57 Polling stations

The count once again took place in the refurbished Lincoln Drill Hall, in Free School Lane, Lincoln.
