Lincoln Castle
Lincoln Castle was constructed during the late 11th century by William the Conqueror on the site of a pre-existing Roman fortress. For 900 years the castle has been used as a prison and a court however it is open to the public as a museum. The castle hosts an appealing events programme and offers free guided tours which provide a fascinating insight into the history of Lincoln and its castle.
