Keeping livestock at your allotment

You may keep chickens, rabbits or bees on your allotment. You need to apply to a keep livestock on your allotment and have written permission from us first.

Chickens

Chickens must be kept in a suitable hutch and run that complies with the terms of the allotment agreement and in accordance with current animal welfare legislation. Cockerels are not permitted on a allotment sites.

Bees

Beehives can be placed on allotment plots provided that you meet certain criteria such as having suitable qualifications/experience being a member of a Beekeeping Association.

Other animals

Other animals including, but not limited to, goats, sheep, pigs and horses are not permitted.

We only allow chickens, rabbits and bees to be kept on allotment sites.

Terms and conditions for allowing livestock on allotment plots are being reviewed, any changes will be communicated to tenants if required.
