At its core Probably Rational is a mobile development agency. Founded in 2016 we are a small but mighty team of developers based in Lincoln working closely with clients and other agencies across the world helping make ideas a reality. We are a mix of graduates and current students of the University of Lincoln, our team has a wide range of skills from mobile development to backend services.
Over the past few years we have worked with clients from around the world to create apps for every sector. We have also worked with a number of Lincoln based businesses to help get their ideas off the ground, we specialise in all aspects of the development process and work with clients from idea inception to all the way through to the full launch of the app. We also continue to support all of our clients for the long term working with them to continually update their apps with new features keeping them on the cutting edge of mobile technology.
Why did you choose to sign up to the charter?
At Probably Rational we are proactive when it comes to both social responsibility and the environment, many aspects of the charter already align with our core values. We want to ensure our employees feel valued whilst also giving them the flexibility to maintain a good work-life balance. We also recognize that working with other local businesses is important and feel signing up for the charter is a good way to show other local businesses what we stand for. Signing up for the charter will hold us to account, and push us to continuously improve our social responsibility.
Have you noticed any positive changes since undertaking a range of socially responsible activities?
As a business we have always aimed to be socially responsible, from the very start we have consistently paid our employees a fair wage based on their role within the business and not their age. We have found that valuing our employers has led to better performance in all aspects of our business, and promoting a healthy work life balance leads to our employees feeling refreshed.
Do you have any words for a business looking to sign up to the charter?
Many of the things the charter aims to promote within businesses are things businesses are likely already doing, and are definitely things which employees would welcome. Supporting employees and the local community is an important thing for any business, and joining the charter makes it clear to everybody inside and outside of the business that social responsibility is an important subject for the business as a whole.
We believe that the charter is an excellent scheme and that all businesses in Lincoln should strive for, to create a greater environment for everyone.
