Lenton Green

Lenton Green is one of the council’s group housing schemes. It offers supported housing older people. The scheme is in the north of the city in the long-established neighbourhood of Ermine. It provides easy access to the centre of Lincoln and is close to many local services and facilities.

Nearby, within walking distance, there is one large supermarket and a shopping centre. Adjacent to Lenton Green is a medical centre. 

Regular bus services go into the centre of the city, and a bus stop is just outside the front of the scheme.


Lenton Green has:

  • 26 self-contained one-bedroom flats
  • 16 one-bedroom bungalows

All the flats and bungalows have their own front door, which gives you complete privacy. They are designed for your independence. All flats and bungalows have a hall, living room, one bedroom, bathroom and a small kitchen, with fitted units. They also have an alarm system that you can use to call help in an emergency. Every bungalow has a small front and rear garden. Each property has its own heating and hot water system, which you control.

We let the property on a secure or introductory tenancy, giving you all the normal rights of any council tenant. However, you will not have the Right to Buy the property.


Lenton Green has the following facilities available to residents:

  • A common room where residents can meet and enjoy a wide variety of activities organised by the residents committee
  • A large communal garden
  • Plenty of drying space
  • Door-entry security to each communal entrance to the flats

Support available

The on-site independent living coordinator ensures that residents can receive all-round support in line with your support plan, which will be agreed with you soon after you move in. 

The support plan is designed to your individual needs and requirements and will be reviewed at least every 6 months with your independent living coordinator.

Cost of the service

The total rent that tenants pay includes the following breakdown of charges;

  • Rent for accommodation
  • Charges for support; charged at around 10% of the accommodation rent
