Housing - Tell us if you own a HMO

You can use this service to tell us if you own (or have purchased) a HMO in Lincoln

There is no fee to declare an HMO. 

Notifying us of your property does not mean you will receive planning permission, a HMO license or accreditation but it does enable you to potentially avoid unnecessary enforcement action.

You may be required upon request to evidence the property's use as a house in multiple occupation. For example, this may include the provision of tenancy agreements, billing information, photographs or floor plans.

Before you start

To use this service you may need:

  • Your (or the agent) name and address  
  • Addresses of the HMOs you own
  • Details of the HMO - how many floors and bedrooms
  • Number of occupants if the property is occupied
