All of our vacant positions are advertised through the UK governments ‘Find an Apprenticeship’ service (https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk) all candidates are directed here and asked to complete an application to register their interest.
Once the closing date arrives we will shortlist candidates and send out invites to those we wish to take through to the next stage(s). Depending upon the role and organisation we are recruiting for this process may involve some, or all of the following:
- Group assessment activities
- Individual tests
Once candidates have been chosen all will be informed in writing of our decisions and offered positions, pending two suitable references.
How long will this process take?
Each recruitment process will take a differing amount of time based upon number of applicants, interview dates and any notice period successful candidates have to give to existing employers. An average this process usually takes approximately six weeks.
Can I apply whilst I am still at school?
Yes, although if you are successful you will not be able to start until you have completed your exams. Please be aware that you will need to come to our offices to attend at least one interview as part of the process so if you are currently at school this must be authorised before attending.
When will I start to be paid?
This will depend upon which company you are working for. If you are employed directly by the City of Lincoln Council then staff are paid on 15th of each month. We do not require you to work ‘a month in hand’ before you are paid.
How much will I be paid?
Please see the ‘terms and conditions’ page for more information about pay.
