City of Lincoln Council in partnership with the Lincolnshire Community Foundation has created a Coronavirus Crisis Fund to provide financial assistance to local charities and community groups.
These are groups who are delivering essential support to those families and individuals facing hardship due to Covid-19.
Grants of up to £2,500 may be awarded to charities, community group and not-for-profit organisations providing relief and assistance to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic or who are supporting longer term community projects.
Grant funding may be used to support volunteer or community response coordination, activities that can help those who are vulnerable or self-isolating, IT/digital equipment to increase capacity and buy resources that enable continuity of service provision.
The Lincolnshire Community Foundation will work closely with City of Lincoln Council and other agencies and organisations to monitor the ongoing impact over the coming weeks
The crisis fund has been set up with an initial donation from the city council, which has been further supported with a contribution of £5,000 from the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund, however, businesses or individuals looking to make a donation can do so by visiting: https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/cityoflincolncovid19fund

Cllr Ric Metcalfe, Leader of the council, said: “Coronavirus is causing significant financial hardship and emotional distress to many across the city.
“These grants for local charities and community groups will enable those working closely with some of the most vulnerable or support worthy local projects to continue to fantastic work they do.”
