Look around
There are various estate and lettings agents operating in Lincoln who may be able to assist you in finding a home to rent in the private sector. The local papers often advertise properties which can be rented directly from a landlord.
Properties may also be advertised on local notice boards or within supermarkets, local shops or post offices.
Be realistic
- What can you really afford?
- Remember you need to be able to pay your Council Tax, insurances, bills, food and travel as well as your rent.
- Don’t overstretch yourself
- If you are claiming Local Housing Allowance ensure your allowance covers the rent or you can afford to pay the additional if it doesn’t.
