City of Lincoln Council, in conjunction with Stagecoach and PC Coaches, has announced the dates for a public preview of the new Lincoln Central Bus Station.

Taking place on Friday 19 January and Saturday 20 January, the preview days will offer the public an opportunity to explore the new facility and learn more about the services available ahead of the bus station’s official opening on Sunday 28 January.

Lincoln Central Bus Station forms part of City of Lincoln Council’s £30million Transport Hub, encompassing a 1,000 space car park, improvements to the city’s railway station forecourt, a new access for vehicles into the railway station car park and pedestrian plaza linking Sincil Street and High Street to the railway station.

The new bus station includes 14 bus bays that will see approximately 650 departures each weekday.

Kate Ellis, Major Developments Director at City of Lincoln Council, said: “We are proud to present our new state-of-the-art bus station to the city’s residents and visitors as part of our vision to deliver Lincoln’s ambitious future and drive economic growth.

“During these preview days, members of staff from City of Lincoln Council, Stagecoach and PC Coaches will be on site to answer questions about the bus station, as well as provide information on timetables, bus lanes and offer guidance.

“The public will also be able to view Lincoln’s very first Changing Places toilet, providing a space for those of Lincoln’s residents and visitors who are unable to use standard accessible toilets.

“We look forward to welcoming the public to the facility which we hope will ensure a comfortable journey to and from the city for everyone.”

Lincoln Central Bus Station will be open for preview to the public on Friday 19 January from 8am until 2pm and Saturday 20 January from 10am until 4pm. The bus station will be in operation on Sunday 28 January and an official opening will take place at 9am on Monday 29 January.
