Several community events are taking place this weekend (17-18) to mark the Great Get Together.
Inspired by MP Jo Cox, who was killed on 16 June last year, the event is a national celebration of her belief that we have far more in common than that which divides us.
Saturday 17 June
Organised by Compassionate Lincoln, The Great Get Together - Under the Bridge will take place from 4.30pm until 9.30pm under Pelham Bridge, with live music, performances, games, activities, street food and drink. Entry is free!
The Active Nation Family Sports Day will run from 11am until 5pm at Yarborough Leisure Centre. For more information call 01522 304415 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Join Grow Lincoln from noon in the herb garden at Liquorice Park, Yarborough Road. People are welcome to bring a dish, play an instrument, organise a game, make decorations, help set up, or simply just turn up to share good food and good company.
From 11am until 2pm residents living in and around Monks Road can meet their neighbours in the Abbey Access Centre. Places are limited, so if you would like to attend email email@example.com
Sunday 18 June
Bring family, friends and a picnic for the AgeUK Street Party to be held at the Cornhill from 11.30am until 4pm with entertainment, stands and games. Don't forget a blanket!
In a similar spirit, also taking place this weekend is the big lunch, the UK's annual get together for neighbours. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the bandstand in the Arboretum from noon until 3pm on Sunday 18 June.
