City of Lincoln Council has today awarded the bonus prizes to two lucky winners following the first draw of Lincoln Community Lottery.
The lucky players from the special incentive draw are Mr. Andrew Sayers who won the prize of a family ticket to the International Bomber Command Centre and Mrs. Amanda Hempsall who won an Apple iPad 32GB.
In total, there were 15 lucky winners for the first draw who scooped over £400.00 worth of prizes.
Andrew Sayers, prize winner, said: “I’m absolutely stunned because I bought the tickets thinking “oh I’ll give it a go”, and suddenly I got an email saying I had won a prize - it’s great!”
Amanda Hempsall, prize winner, said: “It was such a surprise to win, especially in the first week of the draw. Its lovely to think that as well as having the chance to win prizes, I’m also helping to raise much needed funds for local schemes and charities.”
54 local causes have now signed up and it is projected Lincoln Community Lottery could raise more than £36,000 in its first year.
There are now more than 575 players signed up to the lottery and more than 1,200 tickets have been bought.
Councillor Rosanne Kirk, Portfolio Holder for Reducing Inequality at City of Lincoln Council, said: “We are delighted with the result of the first draw of Lincoln Community Lottery.
“It’s a fantastic initiative as 60 per cent of the money your tickets raise goes to community groups and organisations that benefit the people living in our city.
“We expect to see another great turnout for the next draw tomorrow [Saturday 18 August].”
Future draws will take place every Saturday night. For your chance to scoop up to £25,000, go to www.lincolnlottery.co.uk and buy your tickets.
