FAQ ahead of Boultham Park opening celebration

If you are coming to Boultham Park tomorrow, which we hope you are, please see below for additional information you may need to know;

Please note it is planned to be a hot day so ensure you keep hydrated and wear sun cream.

There will be the toilet inside the café for customers, the toilet on the outside of the café available to all, the toilet block at the main gates will be open and we have also hired some portaloos.

Visitor parking is available on the southern-most part of the park, using the entrance off Rookery Lane near to Lakeview Road. There is a No Waiting At Any Time restriction in place outside the park on Rookery Lane. If using side roads, please be considerate to residents and emergency vehicles. All parking, inside or outside of the park, is at your own risk. Where possible please walk or use local transport to the event. Stagecoach services run buses 6 and 9 to Boultham Park Road up to every 15 minutes. The nearest bus stops to the park are at the junction with Western Avenue, on Skellingthorpe Road, and on Moorland Avenue.

This is a free event, but some activities may be charged.

We have a selection of food vendors attending the event and the Boultham Park Café will be open. You are very welcome to bring your own food and drinks to the event. Alcohol is not being sold at the event, but ‘BYOB’ is permitted. Please drink responsibly. SIA-licensed stewards will be on hand if you have any concerns about this at any point during the event. Disposable barbecues are not permitted. Please make use of the bins within the park or take your packaging home for disposal.

Well-behaved dogs (and their owners!) are always welcome in Boultham Park. Please don’t leave your dog in your car as the weather is expected to be warm.
