Help is on hand to get active

Published: 11/03/2016

Tai chi, new age curling and Sudoku will be among some of the activities on offer at a series of events running in the north of the city.

Organised by City of Lincoln Council’s Neighbourhood Working Team and Lincoln Health Trainers, the five-week programme encourages people over the age of 50 to lead a healthier lifestyle through community-based activities.

There will be plenty on offer at the taster session taking place next Tuesday, September 1 - including seated exercise, quizzes and health walks - marking the first in the series of free events.

Noel Tobin, the city council’s Neighbourhood Manager for Lincoln North, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for our over 50s to access activities locally and experience something they may never have tried before.

“The event will also help to explore ways of improving their health and wellbeing, which is so important.”

Lincoln Health Trainers will be on hand to offer exercise referral information and one-to-one support at the event, taking place at St Giles Community Centre from 1pm until 3pm.

Don’t miss out - places are limited and booking is essential. To find out more or book your place call the Neighbourhood Working Team on 01522 544500 or Lincoln Health Trainers on 07919 565730 or 07771 870928.
