The official ‘home’ of the Mayor of Lincoln will be opening its doors this week to mark Lincolnshire Day - Thursday, October 1.
An open day will be held at the Guildhall, offering the chance to find out more about the history of the building and view the Robing Room, Main Chamber, Inner Chamber and Insignia full of hidden treasures.
The event, which will also be attended by the Civic Party, will be open from 10am until 4pm. Tour guides will be on hand to offer information about the building and the items on display.
Mayor of Lincoln, Cllr Andrew Kerry, said: “I am really looking forward to Lincolnshire Day as it’s a great opportunity to celebrate our county and its history.
“The Guildhall will be open all day so I’m looking forward to welcoming our guests and finding out more about the history of the city over a free cup of tea or coffee!”
People are encouraged to wear the yellow or Lincolnshire Flag badge to celebrate Lincolnshire Day.
Free guided tours of the Guildhall take place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10.30am and 2pm.
