Lincoln Guided Tours is giving people the chance to follow the 2015 Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail in a series of special events this summer.
‘Tuesday at Two’ free guided tours will visit 25 individually designed Barons, which are currently on display in various locations around the city centre as part of the Magna Carta 800th anniversary celebrations.
Each tour aims to introduce the 6ft tall Charter Barons and their role in the Magna Carta story while noting other points of interest along the way.
Tours will be free, with all donations going towards the Mayor of Lincoln’s charity - LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service)
The Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Andrew Kerry, said: “This is a superb opportunity to experience the Lincoln Barons and their background.
“All donations will help the city’s First Responders save lives and help the sick and injured.”
Tours will be split into two halves and will last around two hours each.
The first half of the tour will run from the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, LN1 3LY, to Stonebow, in High Street, on the following dates:
- Tuesday, June 23 - 2pm
- Tuesday, July 7 - 2pm
- Tuesday, August 4 - 2pm
The second half of the tour will run from Lincoln Drill Hall, LN2 1EY, to Stonebow, in High Street, on the following dates:
- Tuesday, June 30 - 2pm

Working with Wild in Art, Lincoln BIG organised this quirky sculpture trail, which was unveiled during the city’s Great Magna Carta Weekend on June 13 and 14.
The Barons will remain on display until mid-September. After being on show for three months the Barons will be auctioned to raise funds for The Trussel Trust, which looks after the UK’s food banks.
