City of Lincoln Council has become the first authority to use Parkonomy - innovative technology that is changing the way people go about parking - in two of its car parks
Customers can find their perfect car park at www.parkonomy.com and complete a booking quickly, easily and securely, with a range of convenient payment options to choose from, making hunting for a place to park a thing of the past.
Since launching earlier this year, Parkonomy have implemented convenient new payment options, expanded into Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and added several airport car parks to their booking platform.
In another exciting first for the company, they have just announced that two City of Lincoln Council car parks are now available to book on their website, just in time for the holiday season.
The two car parks - Lucy Tower Street and Chaplin Street - offer 433 and 101 parking spaces respectively (with dedicated bays for blue badge holders), are centrally located just five minutes’ walk from the University campus, and both hold Safer Parking status from Park Mark®, as administered by the British Parking Association.
This focus on quality and reputation is something that Head of Business Development at Parkonomy, Jim Harrow, says makes the company incredibly proud to be working with City of Lincoln Council: “At Parkonomy, we take great care in choosing our business partners.
“We work with some of the biggest and most reputable names in the parking industry, and are thrilled to be able to add City of Lincoln Council to that list.
“We are confident that our solution will be hugely beneficial to them too, as their customers will now be able to make convenient advance-bookings and online payments on the go, and will no longer need to worry about remembering to bring change for the Pay and Display machine.”
Rod Williamson, City Services Team Leader at City of Lincoln Council, added: “We are delighted to be the first city council to work with Parkonomy, to help our residents and visitors find and book parking spaces ahead of time during the busy festive season.
“We will be providing a link to Parkonomy on our website so that customers can take advantage of everything they have to offer.
“We’re a particularly big fan of their optional SMS messaging service feature, which alerts customers when a parking session is about to expire, and asks them whether they want to extend their booking - a link from the SMS message allows this to be done effortlessly, without needing to return to the car park. We think this collaboration will be good news for all parties involved.”
