If you go down to the woods next week you’re in for a big surprise - and you’d better have your teddy bear and picnic at the ready!
The Mayor of Lincoln’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic will return this summer to celebrate 20 years of Disney’s Toy Story at a special event on Saturday, July 18 2015 at Hartsholme Country Park.
Little ones can take part in an array of fun-filled activities from noon until 4pm, including a teddy bear treasure hunt, face painting, funfair rides, craft stalls, music and drama storytelling by pupils from Hillcrest Early Years Academy and the chance to meet characters from Toy Story - Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Mr Potato Head.
All donations will go towards the Mayor’s charity - LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service) - which will be promoting first aid during the event.
The Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Andrew Kerry, said: “There’s not long to go until this year’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic and I am very much looking forward to seeing everybody.
“It’s set to be a fun-filled family day out with a range of activities to keep us entertained - as well as some special Disney guest appearances! There will be plenty on offer, including the opportunity to learn some vital life-saving skills.
“Don’t forget your teddy bear and picnic!”
There will be a number of competitions for children - and teddy bears - to enter on the day, including:
- Smallest Teddy Bear - entries must be submitted by 2.55pm
- Largest Teddy Bear - entries must be submitted by 3.05pm
- Best Dressed Teddy Bear - entries must be submitted by 3.15pm
The city council would like to thank Red Recruitment 24/7, Ruddocks of Lincoln, Cooke and Connell, Stonebow Bears, Boots Lincoln and Running Imp for supporting the event.
