Fiction
The new Lincoln Central Bus Station has been built with the access canopies too low to fit a double decker bus under. Worse still, there isn’t going to be enough seating in the new bus station when it opens

Fact
It is difficult to understand where this came from, but it quickly did the rounds on social media and we were surprised how many people believed it. To set the record straight.

There will be more than enough seating when the bus station opens. Six seats per bay and fourteen bays, meaning that there are is a total of 84 seats in the new bus station.

Paul Ponwaye of John Roberts’ Architects who designed the bus station said: “At its lowest the roof is 5m above the bus apron level. A standard double decker bus is 4.42m maximum.”
