Launched by City of Lincoln Council in August 2018, Lincoln Community Lottery has now raised more than £200k for good causes located in and around the City of Lincoln.

Every supporter of the lottery has contributed to raising these funds, with 60 pence in every £1 ticket purchased going directly to local good causes.

Of the 60 pence, 50 pence directly goes to the supporters chosen good cause. In total there are currently 84 local good causes using the lottery as a fund raising tool. Some examples of these causes include:

  • Support groups
  • Charities
  • Animal rescue organisations
  • Sports clubs
  • Food banks
  • Scouts

An additional 10 pence from every £1 ticket purchased also supports the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund, which is allocated annually to support local projects and activities to benefit the residents of Lincoln. The £10,000 raised within the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund in 2023/24 is currently assisting local good causes to deliver projects focused on the areas of Green Spaces and Homelessness within the City of Lincoln.

Cllr Sue Burke, Portfolio Holder for Reducing Inequality, said: “Lincoln Community Lottery raising over £200k for local good causes is a significant milestone to reach.

I would like to thank supporters of Lincoln Community Lottery who have collectively helped to raise these funds and I look forward to further good causes using the lottery as a fund raising tool in the future.

There is no cost for local good causes to join and benefit from the lottery, however, good causes will be required to meet set criteria to ensure the aims of the lottery continue to be met and the lottery remains fair for all.
