City of Lincoln Council has made a number of changes at Lincoln Crematorium to ease the process in booking services for families of lost loved ones.

Included in the new services, families will now have the opportunity to view available time and date blocks for services, allowing them to easily make arrangements with funeral directors at times that work for them, giving them an idea of slots which work for them ahead of appointments.

Alongside this, service slots will also be increased from 40 minutes to 1 hour from 1 April, giving families time to say their goodbyes ahead of other services taking place.

Finally, the number of services will be increased, making Lincoln Crematorium more accessible for families, with the use of both chapels.

In using both chapels throughout the day, the number of services available to families will now increase from 11 to 14, creating more flexibility for those grieving.

Cllr Bob Bushell, Portfolio Holder for Remarkable Place at City of Lincoln Council said: “These upgrades will improve the service offered for all users of the cemetery and crematorium service.

“We understand that losing a loved one is incredibly difficult and can be a stressful time for the family.

“These new systems in place should help alleviate some of this stress as families plan the services their loved ones deserve.”
