Household Support Fund
Applications are now open for the Household Support Fund.
To apply for a payment, you will need to be a resident of City of Lincoln Council, responsible for household bills, have no savings and meet one of the criteria below.
- Within the last month there has been a significant loss in your household income due to a change which was out of your control
- You have migrated to Universal Credit within the last month
- There has been a change in your household within the last month, resulting in a reduction of household income
You will be asked to provided evidence of the change when you submit your application online.
Voucher payments of between £50 and £200 could be issued to those successful applicants considered most in need and can be used towards the payment of energy bills, pre-payment meter top ups & food shopping.
This is a limited fund, and an award is not guaranteed. Only one application per household will be considered for this wave of the scheme. When you have submitted your form, please allow 28 days for a decision. If you are successful in a payment award you will be notified by email or text message. If you have not heard from us after 28 days, please contact us with your reference number.
Our staff are polite, helpful, and sensitive to your needs. We appreciate that you may be feeling anxious or worried so we will aim to process your application as quickly as possible. However, we remind you that harassment, or violent and abusive behaviour towards our staff is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This type of conduct will result in your application being rejected, your name being placed on the Unacceptable Behaviour register and, in extreme cases, the Police being contacted.
The UK Government awarded Lincolnshire £9.6 million for the seventh round of the Household Support Fund covering the period to the 31 March 2026.
After reviewing the guidance provided, we are now working in partnership with a range of local organisations to try and help meet the needs of our communities. A portion of our share from the fund has been awarded to our established partners to use on local projects.
