Introduction to apprenticeships
We have been delivering high quality apprenticeships since 1995. Over 95% of those who have completed their training have secured a permanent job, either with us or one of our partners. We also offer training for local organisations to upskill their workforce.
What is an apprenticeship?
- A training programme that combines hands-on experience with tutor-based learning
- You will be employed in a real job while you study for a nationally recognised qualification
- Think of it as a way to ‘earn while you learn’
Who can do an apprenticeship?
To start an apprenticeship, you need to:
- Be 16 or older
- Not be in education right now
- Live in England
- Be allowed to work in the UK
Is an apprenticeship the right choice for you?
An apprenticeship might be for you if you:
- Are starting your career
- Want to retrain for a new career
- Are already in a job but want to develop new skills
What will you get as an apprentice?
- A salary
- A nationally recognised qualification
- Annual leave (paid days off)
- Employee benefits such as discounts at local shops and a cycle to work scheme
- Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
