The Giving Machine to take over ownership and management of Lincoln Community Lottery from City of Lincoln Council

Lincoln Community Lottery has been running successfully for more than seven years and has raised more than £250,000 for 75 good causes locally.

Following a review of how best to manage the Lottery going forwards, we are pleased to announce that The Giving Machine will be taking over the ownership and management of Lincoln Community Lottery from City of Lincoln Council. We are grateful to The Giving Machine for helping to ensure the Lottery continues to provide a way for local good causes to raise funds.

Members will notice minimal changes to the way the lottery is run as we are working with The Giving Machine and the Lottery Operator, Gatherwell, to ensure a smooth transition, which will take place on 10 April 2026. However, please note there may be a short technical transition period of a few days following this date. During this time the Lottery will continue to operate as normal, and members will not be affected.

One change which will take place will be in relation to the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund. This fund is currently raised from 10 pence in every ticket purchased and 60 pence where a player selects the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund as their good cause. This fund is currently used to support local causes within Lincoln. After the transition, these funds will support The Giving Machine’s Community Fund, which will be allocated to causes across the country, of which some may be located within Lincoln.

Any further changes to the way the lottery is run after the transfer will be communicated by The Giving Machine.

If you have any questions or wish to cancel your membership from the Lottery before the transfer, please call us on 01522 253888.
