Who can rent a garage
Anyone is able to apply onto the waiting list for a council garage.
To apply you must not owe money to the council for a housing-related debt (such as rent arrears).
The garage must be used to store a car belonging to you or a member of your household who is normally resident with you.
You must not use the garage to carry out extensive repairs to vehicles.
If you are not a council tenant then additional VAT will apply to your rent and you will be required to pay by direct debit payments.
The council may end the garage tenancy at any time. We will explain the full terms and conditions of tenancy at the time of offer.
