Collection frequency and schedule

Food waste will be collected weekly on your usual bin collection day. Collections will commence from 30 March 2026.

Equipment provided

  • Indoor kitchen caddy: 5 litres, grey with lid, for food waste storage indoors.
  • Outdoor caddy: 23 litres, black with orange lid, for kerbside collections.
  • Liners: Initial supply included to keep caddies clean and facilitate emptying.

Deliveries started on Monday, 23rd February and will continue for a five‑week period. The schedule begins with areas whose waste collections take place on Mondays, followed by Tuesday collection areas, and so on.  All communal bins will be delivered during the final week, together with any outstanding items resulting from reported missed deliveries. Communal bins

Residents who use communal bins for collection of refuse and recycling will receive a 140 litre orange lidded outdoor bin, to use in conjunction with existing collection arrangements. These communal food waste bins will be routinely washed.

Using and maintaining your caddies

  • Line the indoor caddy with liners, newspaper, or an old plastic bag.
  • Empty the indoor caddy regularly into the outdoor caddy.
  • Wash caddies when necessary; the indoor caddy is dishwasher safe up to 60°C.

Assisted bin collection service includes food waste caddy collection for eligible residents.
