Gratton Construction Limited is a specialist property maintenance and refurbishment contractor delivering planned improvement works, repairs and adaptations across Lincolnshire and the wider East Midlands. We work closely with local authorities, housing providers and public sector organisations to improve homes and communities.
Our approach is built around directly employed staff, strong local supply chain relationships and delivering high-quality services that provide lasting benefits for residents. Alongside delivering construction projects, we are committed to investing in local people, supporting community initiatives and creating opportunities for local businesses wherever we work.
Why did you choose to sign up to the charter?
The principles of the Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter closely reflect the values already embedded within our business. We believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to contribute positively to the communities in which they operate, not only through the services they deliver but also through the opportunities they create.
By signing up to the Charter, we wanted to formally demonstrate our commitment to supporting local employment, working with local suppliers, investing in skills and training, and contributing to the social and economic wellbeing of Lincoln and its residents.
Have you noticed any positive changes since undertaking a range of socially responsible activities?
Absolutely. We have found that investing in our people and local communities creates positive outcomes for everyone involved.
Our focus on employee wellbeing, training and career development has helped us attract and retain skilled staff, while our commitment to working with local suppliers and subcontractors has strengthened relationships within the communities we serve.
We have also seen the positive impact that community support initiatives, apprenticeships and local employment opportunities can have on individuals and families, helping to create sustainable benefits that extend far beyond the projects we deliver.
Do you have any words for a business looking to sign up to the charter?
We would encourage any organisation to get involved.
Social responsibility does not need to involve large-scale initiatives; often the biggest impact comes from consistently supporting local people, local businesses and local communities through everyday business activities.
The Charter provides a great opportunity to demonstrate your commitment, share best practice and work alongside other organisations that are helping to make Lincoln an even better place to live, work and do business.
