City of Lincoln Council is inviting residents and members of the public to learn more about the work of Lincoln Crematorium at a free open day.
The event will give visitors the opportunity to meet the Bereavement Services team, explore the crematorium’s facilities and learn more about the support available to families before, during and after a bereavement.
Visitors will be able to take guided tours of the West Chapel, the Crematory and the Garden of Remembrance, with the crematory tour being entirely optional.
Staff will also be available to answer questions in an informal setting and explain the cremation process, memorial options and the care taken throughout every stage of the service.
National institutes that support the Bereavement Services sector will also be exhibiting on the day, including the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management and the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the professionals that support our Bereavement Services team, as well as view demonstrations, including the skilled craft of calligraphy in our Book of Remembrance.
