Statement of Licensing Policy

Information on this policy

Before a Local Authority can discharge its function as the Licensing Authority, it must have published a Statement of Licensing Policy. Before determining its policy for any five-year period, the licensing authority must have consulted with the following persons:

  • The chief officer of police for the area
  • The fire authority for the area
  • The local authority responsible for public health function
  • Persons/bodies representative of local holders of premises licences
  • Persons/bodies representative of local holders club premises certificates
  • Persons/bodies representative of local holders of personal licences
  • Persons/bodies representative of businesses and residents in the area

The Act does not prevent the Local Authority consulting other bodies or persons before determining their policies. The City of Lincoln Council made the draft policy available for open consultation.
