Hartsholme Country Park’s main car park will be closed from Monday, 6 October 2025, for resurfacing works.
The closure will last for approximately three weeks, and the car park is expected to reopen in time for the October half-term holiday.
The works will include surfacing and drainage improvements to the main body of the car park with some tarmac repairs to the main entrance/driveway on completion.
During this period, visitors are kindly asked to use alternative parking at Skellingthorpe Road Recreation Ground, which is opposite the entrance to Hartsholme Country Park’s main car park.
Access to the park itself will remain open for people to visit by foot via alternative entrances.
There is a digital map of Hartsholme Country Park which can be viewed online to see the alternative entrances to the park.
To minimise disruption, disabled visitors will still be able to use the designated disabled bays in the first section of Hartsholme car park.
Campsite guests, residents and delivery vehicles will also continue to have unrestricted access.
Cllr Rebecca Longbottom, Portfolio Holder for Remarkable Place, said:
“While measures and alternative entrances have been put in place to keep disruption to a minimum, we understand that closing the main car park may cause some inconvenience. However, these resurfacing works are essential to ensure Hartsholme remains safe, accessible and welcoming for all.
“We thank visitors for their patience and cooperation, and we look forward to reopening the car park in full, so that everyone can continue to enjoy Hartsholme Country Park at its best.”
