Lincoln's gearing up for a wonderful period of celebrations. With a host of spine-tingling Halloween activities leading straight into a magical Christmas programme, the city centre is the place to be.
Throughout October, Lincoln comes alive with spooky sights and eerie entertainment for all ages:

With so much to enjoy, Halloween in Lincoln promises plenty of thrills and creativity.
But once Halloween fades, the fun doesn’t stop!
Following Bonfire Night, Lincoln transforms into a festive wonderland with the launch of Christmas in Lincoln, bringing twinkling lights, festive flavours, and family fun to the heart of the city.
Lincoln Illuminations will light up the streets from 27 November to 2 January, with the spectacular Light Switch-On Event on 27 November from 5pm until late. Don’t miss the dazzling displays that will fill the city with festive cheer all season long.
The celebrations continue with Lincoln Ice Adventure taking place on 6 and 7 December from 11am to 5pm, organised by City of Lincoln Council’s Events in Lincoln team.
This free event will feature impressive Lincoln-themed ice sculptures, Christmas carols, a live ice carving demonstration, and plenty of festive surprises, from glühwein sold by FFN Lincoln to visits from whimsical winter characters such as the Bubble Elf, Icicle Princess and Glowbot.
Christmas in Lincoln is the perfect opportunity to embrace and discover all that the city has to offer.
Enjoy delicious food and drink, browse the stalls at Cornhill Market for festive flavours and independent finds, or take a cosy break inside Thor’s Tipi for a winter warmer.
Meet Santa at his grotto in the Waterside, marvel at Lincoln Castle Illuminated, taking place from 21 November to 23 December, and experience the city’s heritage bathed in Christmas lights.
Discover unique gifts from local makers and independent traders in uphill Lincoln and along the High Street, perfect for thoughtful presents that make Christmas truly special.
Festive favourites will also be returning across the city, including:
- Advent Wreath Festival at St Mary Magdalene’s Church – 27 November to 18 December (open Thursdays 5pm to 7pm, weekends 2pm to 4pm, and most weekdays 11am to 12 noon)
- Lincoln Medieval Christmas Market at St Mary le Wigford Church – 4 to 7 December
- Christmas Craft Fair at The County Assembly Rooms – 4 to 7 December
- The Maker’s Market at St Paul in the Bail – 13 to 14 and 20 to 21 December
- Lincoln Santa Fun Run – Sunday 14 December, celebrating its 20th year
