The Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee has has launched a ‘Call for Sites’ as the first stage in reviewing the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan.
The Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee, made up of City of Lincoln Council, North Kesteven District Council, West Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council, has launched a ‘Call for Sites’ as the first stage in reviewing the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan.
To support this work, landowners, developers, organisations and members of the public are invited to submit details of sites they believe may be suitable for development and should be considered in the Local Plan Review.
The Call for Sites consultation is open until 18 February 2026.
The Central Lincolnshire Local Plan is a document that sets out policies and proposals for future development across Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey, including new housing, jobs, and infrastructure.
It is intended to ensure development is sustainable, protects the environment, and meets the local needs of the area, and, like all local plans, it must be kept up to date to reflect changing circumstances and government requirements.
In October 2025, the Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee agreed to begin a review of the Local Plan. One of the earliest steps in this process is to understand what land may be available for consideration for future development.
All sites submitted will be assessed as part of the Local Plan Review process, and details of submissions will be published in due course.
The councils stress that submitting a site does not mean it will be allocated in the Local Plan, nor does it guarantee the granting of planning permission.
Cllr Naomi Tweddle, Leader of City of Lincoln Council and the current Chair of the Central Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee, said:
“The Call for Sites is an important early stage in reviewing the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan.
“We want to understand what land is available, and what opportunities there may be to meet future housing, employment and development needs across our area.
“I would strongly encourage anyone who has land they would like to see considered as part of this work to come forward. The consultation is open until 18 February, and taking part now ensures your site can be properly considered alongside others as the plan review progresses.”
Submissions can be made using the online form available at:
