City of Lincoln Council is pleased to announce that Krinkels UK has been awarded an eight-year contract to deliver grounds maintenance services across the city, commencing in September 2026.

Following a thorough procurement process, the contract was awarded last autumn and has now been formally signed.

The new agreement reflects the council’s continued commitment to maintaining high-quality green spaces while strengthening its focus on environmental sustainability and community value.

The grounds maintenance service will cover all parks and green spaces across Lincoln, as well greenery in the wider street scene areas. Residents can expect a strengthening of quality standards, alongside the introduction of more environmentally friendly methods designed to protect biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions.

The contract places an emphasis on sustainable practices, innovation and proactive maintenance planning. Over the eight-year term, the partnership will focus on promoting greener working methods, supporting local employment and apprenticeships, and delivering measurable social value for the city.

Councillor Rebecca Longbottom, Portfolio Holder for Remarkable Place at City of Lincoln Council said:

“This new contract marks an important step in ensuring our parks, green spaces, and street scene continue to be maintained to a high standard for residents and visitors.

“As a council, we are committed to protecting and enhancing Lincoln’s natural environment. This partnership will not only maintain the quality of our green spaces but also introduce more sustainable approaches that support our wider environmental ambitions.

“We look forward to working closely with Krinkels over the coming years to ensure our public spaces remain attractive, accessible and welcoming for everyone.”

Michelle Maybury, Managing Director at Krinkels UK, said:

“Krinkels UK is committed to delivering a high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective grounds maintenance service that enhances the visual appeal, safety, and environmental value of public spaces across the City of Lincoln.

“With over three decades of experience in managing large-scale municipal grounds maintenance contracts, we bring a proven record of reliability, innovation, and community engagement.

“Our approach prioritises consistent service delivery, proactive maintenance planning, and open communication with Council officers, residents and stakeholders.
