Public consultation launched on proposed updates to Local Validation Lists.
West Lindsey, North Kesteven, and City of Lincoln have launched a four‑week public consultation on proposed updates to its Local Validation Lists for planning applications. The consultation runs from 11 May 2026 to 7 June 2026 and forms part of a coordinated Central Lincolnshire approach.
Local Validation Lists set out the additional information that may be required, alongside national requirements, before a planning application can be validated and determined efficiently. The review is required by national planning policy and ensures the lists remain up to date, proportionate and aligned with the adopted Central Lincolnshire Local Plan and current government guidance.
Proposed changes include clearer guidance on information requirements, improved signposting to relevant planning documents, and the introduction of new requirements, including an Affordable Housing Statement and an Outline Battery Safety Management Plan for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications.
The proposed lists are not yet adopted, and the existing validation lists will continue to apply throughout the consultation period. Following the consultation, all representations will be considered before any updated lists are formally approved and brought into use.
