City of Lincoln Council and CVS Lincolnshire are consulting Lincoln Community Lottery supporters and residents on how the final allocation of the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund will be spent.

A total of £17,811 is available within the fund to support local projects and activities that benefit the residents of Lincoln.

How was the fund raised?

The fund was raised through Lincoln Community Lottery ticket sales between August 2024 and April 2026, when the lottery transferred to a new operator.

The supporters either:

  • Selected the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund as their good cause when purchasing tickets, with 60p from every ticket sold going directly into the fund
  • Selected any of the other good causes when purchasing tickets, with 10p from every ticket sold contributing to the Community Fund and a further 50p going directly to their chosen good cause.

How will the funding be allocated?

The allocation of the Community Fund will involve three key stages:

  • Consultation – Lincoln residents and supporters of the lottery will vote to identify the top two priority areas they would most like to support.
  • Application process – Good causes working within the top two priority areas identified through the consultation will be invited to apply for funding to support a specific project/activity that benefits the residents of Lincoln.
  • Allocation - Funding will be awarded to the successful applicants.

Stages two and three will be managed by CVS Lincolnshire, a local charity that supports the community and voluntary sector across Lincolnshire as a volunteer development agency and a local support and development organisation.

Applications for funding from the final Lincoln Lottery Community Fund are expected to open later this year. Keep an eye on City of Lincoln Council’s and CVS Lincolnshire’s social media channels and websites for updates on when the application process opens.

Cllr Lucinda Preston, Portfolio Holder for Reducing Inequality at City of Lincoln Council, said:

“The Lincoln Lottery Community Fund has supported a wide range of projects and activities in the past, which have directly benefitted Lincoln’s residents. It is great that this fund will be able to support a range of good causes for one final time in 2026, and I would like to thank all who have helped to raise these funds.

“I would encourage supporters of the lottery and residents to take part in the consultation and help decide the good cause priority areas which will benefit from this final round of funding.”
