Lincoln will welcome City & Town Sheriffs from across England and Wales this weekend as the city hosts the annual meeting of the National Association of City and Town Sheriffs of England and Wales.
Taking place from 25 to 27 September, the event will bring together most of the 15 City Sheriffs from across the UK for the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). The weekend will also include a programme showcasing some of Lincoln’s historic and cultural attractions.
The visit is being hosted by the Sheriff of Lincoln and the Lincoln Shrievalty Association, who organised the weekend’s events.
During their visit, the Sheriffs and their Consorts will have the opportunity to explore some of the city’s best-known landmarks, including Lincoln’s Historic Guildhall, the International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum.
The visit will conclude with a civic procession from Lincoln Castle to Lincoln Cathedral at 9.30am on 27 September. The procession will feature visiting Sheriffs and civic VIPs, before a special service is held at the Cathedral.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the City Sheriffs to experience Lincoln’s rich heritage and civic traditions, while sharing ideas and strengthening connections between cities and towns across England and Wales.
