Cost of Living Support

Crisis and Resilience Fund

The UK Government funds the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), which has been made available to local authorities in England to provide emergency support for low-income households facing a financial shock and to support activity that builds individual and community financial resilience. The fund is split into stands to support with:

Heating Oil Payments
Crisis Payments
Housing Payments

Crisis Payments provide emergency support for low-income households experiencing a financial shock which places immediate pressure on household finances.

Examples may include:

  • A significant loss in your household income
  • Unexpected household expenses
  • Increased housing or utility costs
  • Unforeseen circumstances that create an immediate financial crisis

To apply for a payment, you will need to have experienced a financial shock within the past three months and:

  • Be a resident of the City of Lincoln
  • Aged 16 or over and responsible for household expenses
  • Have a household income of less than £36,000
  • Have savings of less than £6,000

You will be asked about your:

  • Household circumstances
  • Income from earnings, pensions and benefits
  • Essential expenditure
  • The financial shock/crisis
  • Any steps already taken to resolve the issue

Attaching accurate information such as bank statements, proof of household income and expenditure will help applications to be processed as quickly as possible.

Voucher payments of between £50 and £200 will be issued to successful applicants and can be used towards the payment of energy bills, pre-payment meter top-ups, food shopping and wider essentials.

This is a limited fund, and an award is not guaranteed. Only one application per household will be considered. If you are successful in a payment award you will be notified by email or text message. If your application does not meet the criteria of the scheme, you will be notified by email or letter, stating the reason why. If you have provided the information requested to evidence your claim but have not heard from us within 10 days, please contact us by email costofliving@lincoln.gov.uk with your claim reference number.
