Paying your rent

How your rent is calculated

We review your rent for the coming year at the start of each year. This year we approved a rent decrease of 2.7% from 6th  April 2020.

How rent is worked out

The rent for your property is based on a formula that the Government has set.

This formula takes in to account the value of a property, the number of bedrooms it has and the average income of people who live in Lincoln.

How we let you know if your rent changes

Changes to your net rent will come in to effect on 6th April 2020.  We will send you a letter in late February/early March to let you know about any changes in your rent.  Your letter will tell you the weekly amount of rent to pay and will include any other applicable charges (for example water rates or community heating).

If you pay by direct debit

We will send you a letter letting you know of any changes to your direct debit at least two weeks before the change is due to begin. You will not need to do anything as we will let your bank know of any changes to your direct debit.

If you pay by standing order

If you pay your rent by standing order you will need to inform your bank of the new amount to pay as soon as possible.
