Chapel and Services

Types of Service

Lincoln Crematorium offers a number of types of funeral service:

  • Direct Cremation (no attendance, available Monday to Thursday 08:15, 08:30, 08:45, 09:00)
  • Early Start Service (20-minute chapel slot including entrance and exit, available 09:00 or 09:30)
  • Attended Direct (30-minute chapel slot including entrance and exit, available Monday to Thursday 10:00, 10:30, 14:00, 15:30)
  • Full Service (60-minute chapel slot, including entrance and exit and advised 45-minute service time, available between 10:00 – 15:00 Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 – 14:00 Friday)
  • The chapels can be used for memorial services if required
  • 60-minute service extensions are available for an additional fee

Although we advise you use a Funeral Director, we can provide advice for families who wish to organise a funeral without a Funeral Director.  Please contact the office for more details.

Facilities

Lincoln Crematorium offers the following facilities to visitors:

  • Comfortable waiting room with hot drinks machine
  • Accessible toilets
  • Induction loop system in both chapels
  • Vestry for Ministers/Celebrants
  • A wheelchair is available for use if needed
  • Free parking for all visitors, including 3 disabled spaces

Our Chapels

Lincoln Crematorium has 2 onsite chapels: the West Chapel offers full services on the hour from 10:00, with the East Chapel on the half-hour from 10:30. The chapels offer the following:

  • Each have seating for around 100 people
  • Outdoor speakers for services with larger attendances
  • The West Chapel offers bi-folding doors to open the foyer and outside area for very large attendances
  • Live-streaming or recording of funeral services at prior request
  • Visual tribute options (pictures, slideshows, family videos) at prior request
  • An extensive music library able to fulfil almost all music requests
  • Both chapels are non-denominational spaces and can be personalised for any religion or belief if required
  • A uniformed chapel attendant will be present and available at each service
  • Dogs are welcome into the chapels as well as the Crematorium grounds. However, they must be always kept on a lead and under control. Any mess is the owner’s responsibility
  • Both chapels offer a space to display floral tributes following a service. The flowers will remain displayed in the area for 7 days, following this period, tributes will be removed and recycled
