What are aids and adaptions?
We understand that everybody has different needs for their home. We can offer permanent and temporary adaptations to your home to make it easier and more comfortable for you to live there.
Anyone living in a council home can request adaptations if they need them.
We have two different types of aids and adaption services.
Minor adaptations
These are small changes to your home, and can include things like:
-
Lever taps
-
Handrails
-
Grab rails
-
Mixer showers
-
Concrete half steps
-
Extra external lights
Major adaptations
These are larger changes to your home, such as:
-
Ramps
-
Stairlifts
-
Low level access showers (wet rooms) and over-bath showers
-
Hard surfaces and dropped kerbs
-
Internal alterations to widen doorways or adapt kitchens
-
