Following the announcement by government on business rate relief we are currently awaiting the full detail on how this will work.

When we have this information we will put it on our website and social media.
You will have been sent a business rate bill previously which will be replaced in due course if you are entitled to this relief.
In the meantime, we will be proactively cancelling business rate direct debit payments due in April 2020 for all businesses likely to fall into the categories entitled to relief.

We are going to trial 2 bid cycles for City of Lincoln Council properties, the first of which will start on 12th of August and the 2nd on 26th August 2020. Bids can be placed online or over the telephone.
No bids can be placed in person at City Hall. After these 2 bid cycles, we will review the current position to see if further bid cycles can continue, if any issues have been raised and if we have insufficient properties to advertise (with limited people moving at this time), we will stop bid cycles again and revert back to direct matching.
Housing Association properties will continue to be advertised in the normal way.
City Hall is open for a limited service on an appointment only basis. Appointments will only be offered on an exceptional basis for matters that cannot be dealt with by telephone or email. No ‘walk-in’ service will be available for the Housing Solutions Team.

Protecting your Waste Collection Services
City of Lincoln Council in partnership with Biffa are striving to maintain your waste collection services throughout this difficult time.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing some access problems caused by parked cars, which we understand may be due to more people either self-isolating or working from home.
We ask if you could please leave at least 9 foot 6 inches (2.9metres) between parked cars on the opposite side of your street on your respective bin collection days. Thank you.
Please ensure your waste is presented for collection before 7am on the days of collection, you may wish to put it out the night before.
Important Communication Regarding All Waste Services
The City Of Lincoln Council and Biffa are working in partnership to maintain your waste collection services, please see our latest update below.
- Refuse Black Bin / purple sacks collections to continue as normal
- Recycling Brown Bin collections to continue as normal
- Garden Waste Green Bin to continue as normal.
Please present all waste for collection by 7am on the day of collection or the night before your collection is due. It is important that you remove your bin from the street on to your own property following your scheduled waste collection.
Assisted Bulky Waste Collections
This service continues as normal all bookings must be processed through Customer Services by calling 01522 873 423
- We will continue to provide street cleansing and litter picking services within the city centre and likewise around the rest of the city, but litter pickers on foot will be reduced throughout the city as a whole.
- We will continue to provide mechanical sweepers on your normal routine cleansing schedules.
- We will endeavour to keep you updated where possible and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.
