Funeral Services
Lincoln Crematorium offers a number of types of funeral service:
Direct Cremation
A Direct Cremation is an unattended funeral with no formal service. This means no one except the Funeral Director accompanies the coffin into the Chapel for the committal. The coffin arrives at the Crematorium in the same way as a traditional service, and a piece of music is played whilst the coffin is placed on the catafalque. The curtains are then closed, and the coffin is brought into our care.
Early Start Service
An Early Start Service is a 20-minute service in our Chapels and is available at 09:00 and 09:30. As with all of our attended services, our full media library is available, as well as the option to webcast the service and include a Visual Tribute within the 20-minute timeframe.
Attended Direct
An Attended Direct Service is a 30-minute service in our Chapels and is available at 10:00, 10:30, 14:00 and 15:00. As with all of our attended services, our full media library is available, as well as the option to webcast the service and include a Visual Tribute within the 30-minute timeframe.
Full Service
The Full Service is a traditional 60-minute service in our Chapels and is available between 10:00 and 15:00 Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 and 14:00 on Friday. As with all of our attended services, our full media library is available, as well as the option to webcast the service and include a Visual Tribute within the 60-minute timeframe.
Our Chapels can be used for memorial services if required, including a service before a Cemetery burial. 60-minute service extensions are available in both Chapels for an additional fee.
Although we advise you use a Funeral Director, we can provide advice for families who wish to organise a funeral without a Funeral Director. Please contact the office for more details.
