The Student Accommodation Accreditation Scheme

Through the Student Accommodation Accreditation Scheme, landlords can become accredited by meeting the standards set out in the scheme’s Code of Practice. This Code of Practice aims to ensure that safe, clean and well-managed accommodation is available for students living in Lincoln by specifying physical standards for the property and service standards for management.

Benefits to students

Reassurance - accredited properties:

  • Should have a high standard of repair, safety and amenity
  • Should have few disputes between students and the landlord

Benefits to landlords

  • Landlords can choose to advertise with either or both universities in Lincoln

  • Once accepted onto the scheme, the details of the properties will be advertised within the universities and on the Student Pad’s website

Apply for the Student Accommodation Accreditation Scheme

If you are a landlord interested in applying for the scheme, you should contact the accommodation offices at the University of Lincoln and the Bishop Grosseteste University College. They can provide you with the current Code of Practice and an application form that you will sign to declare that:

  • You have read and understood the Code of Practice
  • The accommodation you wish to get accredited meets the required standards
  • You will manage the accommodation in accordance with the Code of Practice
