Tenant Fees Act 2019
The Tenant Fees Act 2019 introduced legislation making it illegal for landlords and letting agents to charge certain fees to tenants, unless they are classed as 'permitted payments'.
The Tenant Fees Act 2019 came into force on 1 June 2019 for new tenancies and was applied to all tenancies from 1 June 2020
