City of Lincoln Council

The government has announced a huge set of measures to support businesses and the economy during this difficult time. We are currently awaiting the full detail of how these measures will work.
We already have a team working to ensure we have the staff and processes in place to get the financial support out to businesses as quickly as possible to provide the help needed.
As soon as we receive the full detail from government we will put information on our website and on social media.
We are also speaking with local partners to ensure information goes out to the business community and concerns are fed back. These will then be raised with government and the city’s MP to make them aware and to seek information on any help that can be provided now.
If you want to raise any issues with us or ask any questions, please contact us by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Following the announcement by government on business rate relief we are currently awaiting the full detail on how this will work. More information can be found at lincoln.gov.uk/support
When we have this information we will put it on our website and out through social media.
You will have been sent a business rate bill previously which will be replaced in due course if you are entitled to this relief.
In the meantime, we will be proactively cancelling business rate direct debit payments due in April 2020 for all businesses likely to fall into the categories entitled to relief.

In light of the current situation surrounding Covid-19 (Corona Virus) we have made the decision to suspend all allocations through the housing register of City Of Lincoln Council properties.
We will continue to allocate to those in band one or who are in emergency situations including homelessness through direct matches and we will continue to advertise housing association properties in the normal way.
North Kesteven District Council will continue to advertise properties through the website in the normal way and applicants are advised to continue to use the website to search for properties they may be interested in and place bids accordingly.
If you are homeless or in an emergency situation then please contact your local authority for further advice. In addition, those that are applying through the housing register may experience longer processing times or responses to queries as we prioritise those who are in most housing need.
Protecting your Waste Collection Services
City of Lincoln Council in partnership with Biffa are striving to maintain your waste collection services throughout this difficult time.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing some access problems caused by parked cars, which we understand may be due to more people either self-isolating or working from home.
We ask if you could please leave at least 9 foot 6 inches (2.9metres) between parked cars on the opposite side of your street on your respective bin collection days. Thank you.
Please ensure your waste is presented for collection before 7am on the days of collection, you may wish to put it out the night before.
Important Communication Regarding All Waste Services
The City Of Lincoln Council and Biffa are working in partnership to maintain your waste collection services, please see our latest update below.
- Refuse Black Bin / purple sacks collections to continue as normal
- Recycling Brown Bin collections to continue as normal
- Garden Waste Green Bin to continue as normal.
We are not yet in a position to commence taking new subscriptions for the 2020 to 2021 service which starts in July but will keep you updated
Please present all waste for collection by 7am on the day of collection or the night before your collection is due. It is important that you remove your bin from the street on to your own property following your scheduled waste collection.
Assisted Bulky Waste Collections
Unfortunately, this service will have to stop and no more bookings can be made. The last collections will be those booked for 25/03/2020. This arrangement is until further notice.
- We will continue to provide street cleansing and litter picking services within the city centre and likewise around the rest of the city, but litter pickers on foot will be reduced throughout the city as a whole.
- We will continue to provide mechanical sweepers on your normal routine cleansing schedules.
- We will endeavour to keep you updated where possible and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.
