Apply for a Council House

Request a Review

Review a Decision

If a decision has been made on your application that you are not happy with, then you may be able to request a review of this decision. You have a statutory right to request a review on certain part 6 allocations decisions, these include:

  • About the facts of the case,
  • That the applicant does not meet qualification thresholds, or
  • That the applicant is ineligible for Council housing because of their immigration status.

A request for a review must normally be requested by the applicant within 28 days of being notified of the decision. This can be done by contacting:

City of Lincoln Council

Post: Housing Solutions, City Hall, Beaumont Fee, Lincoln, LN1 1DD

Phone: 01522 873777

Email: housingsolutions@lincoln.gov.uk

The applicant will be notified of the review decision within 8 weeks of the request for a review being received (or longer if agreed in writing by both parties).

The applicant does not have the right to a review of a decision that was reached by an earlier review.

Submit a Compliment or a Complaint

The City of Lincoln Council has a compliments and complaints procedure that is accessible for the public to use.

If an applicant is dissatisfied with how they have been dealt with, and feel they have been unfairly treated, discriminated against and/or the Council has failed to do somethings they should have done, then the applicant can make a complaint by contacting:

Ombudsman

The Local Government Ombudsman is independent of all government departments, councils and politicians. The Ombudsman examines complaints without taking sides. In most cases the complainant must have pursued the matter through the Council’s own complaints procedure before a complaint can be considered by the Local Government Ombudsman.
