Sharing your data for matching

We may use your personal data for data matching under legal powers set out in the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Data matching involves comparing computer records held by one organisation against other computer records held by the same or another organisation to see how far they match. We are required by the government to participate in data matching exercises to assist in the prevention and detection of fraud and for the assessment and collection of tax. Data matching may also be used to assist us in responding to emergencies or major incidents for example to identify individuals who may need additional support in an emergency evacuation.
