Data Protection and Privacy Notice

Privacy designed for you

We identify and consider privacy risks when planning to use or hold your personal data in new ways, such as when introducing new technologies and services. To do this we carry out assessments of privacy, which are built into our design process and project management.

We are required by law to carry out these data protection impact assessments for example, where it is likely to have a high risk to your privacy or when using CCTV in a public area, making automated decisions (made solely by computers) which have legal or significant effects on you or where we are using large amounts of sensitive personal data.

We have also developed systems such as online accounts to enable you to access and check the accuracy of your own personal data, relating for example to council tax and benefits.
